History on the United Nations.

From August to October 1944, representatives of the Republic of China, United Kingdom, United States, and the USSR met to elaborate plans at the Dumbarton Oaks Conference in Washington,D.C. Those and later talks produced proposals outlining the purposes of the United Nations organization, its membership and organs, as well as arrangements to maintain international peace and security and international economic and social cooperation. Governments and private citizens worldwide discussed and debated these proposals.

The leaders of the UN had high hopes that it would act to prevent conflicts between nations and make future wars impossible. Those hopes have obviously not fully come to pass. From about 1947 until 1991 the division of the world into hostile camps during the Cold War made a agreement on peacekeeping a very difficult process.  Following the end of the Cold War, renewed calls arose for the UN to become the agency for achieving world peace and co-operation, as several dozen active military conflicts continued to rage across the globe.

a.      What is your issue? My issue is terrorism. Terrorism is a force to try and use force to gain pollitical actions.Terrorism has led to many deaths in africa. It has caused a civil war that has lasted from 1990's to present day. In the early 21st century, new global threats emerged. The attacks of 911 on the twin towers has inspired many other unessecary powerful actions.

             b.      Where is this an issue? The issue is in Kenya,Africa. Over the past few years Kenya has been known to be an "easy target" for unnessecary actions by a variety of groups.

            c. Why is it an issue? This is an issue because the innocent people in the community. The terrorists have destroied many politcical landmarks and a lot of banks and important buildings. And is causing a lot of unwanted attention to Africa and small villages within Africa. It's also an issue because political leaders feel threatened and dont want to try and stop this issue because thye feel like the terrorists will go after them.

d.      Who does the issue most effect? Terrorism mostly affects people in small villages/communities. It effects them most because they dont have much money to defend themselves from the horrible attacks. It is also affecting the economy of Kenya because they have to pay off the damage and feed the people from those small communities. And iof people do survive these awful attacks they dont have the money to get food or get their kid to the hospital and possibly save the kids life.

e.      What does the UN do for the issue? The United Nations does absolutely nothing to stop this issue. The U.N. is trying to make treaties with these people. But thats not going to stop these furocious attacks on these innocent communities. They could take action on this issue but they just keep holding back. But i have no clue why they would do that to these innocent kids and parents they are killing at will.
